PROTECTING OUR ENVIRONMENT

We endeavour to be as green as possible without compromising on the comfort of our guests. Wood burning fires, fuelled from the woods, are carbon neutral and supports our central heating system. Most of our refuse is recycled or composted. Energy efficient light bulbs reduce our electricity consumption, and ecologically friendly laundry and cleaning products are kind to our rivers.

Food is very important to us and our policy of using only home-grown or traditionally reared, locally sourced ingredients; organic where possible, helps both support our farmers and minimise food miles, which in turn ensures that we bring some of the freshest, best quality food that Yorkshire has to offer.

The emphasis is firmly placed on good country cooking and whilst breakfast is normally offered at 9am we are very flexible on these timings.

Our home-made preserves are legendary and the dry cured bacon from our traditional saddleback pigs is the perfect accompaniment to the chocolate brown free range eggs, freshly laid for you by our hens that morning.

Add some award-winning Masham sausages, bread from the world famous Betty's of Harrogate bakery, a selection of fresh croissants, pastries, fruit, yoghurts, cereals, freshly squeezed juice and you're all set for a breakfast to remember.
